Treatment of shrimp pond when shrimp ‘ve white spot

White spot syndrome virus is not currently available treatment. Therefore, when ponds appear disease farmers need to have the appropriate treatment to kill the germ, to avoid spread.

White spot disease caused by the virus causes much damage to the farmers

Ponds are diseased shrimp
Poor shrimp with dead shrimp. Shrimp harvest within 1-2 days if the shrimp reach the harvest size.

We need to take immediate measures to isolate the sewer, to prevent the water coming in and out.

After collecting shrimps, sterilize water and tools with chlorine at 40 ppm. Store water for at least 7 days before discharging into the environment. Pond equipment and fans must be sprayed with chlorinated water at a concentration of 1,600 ppm or, if possible, immersed in 40 ppm chlorine water for at least 3 days.

If the shrimps have not reached the harvest size, the shrimps die (80 – 100%), then the dead shrimp should be removed and the chlorine concentration is 40 ppm. In the case of shrimps that are not dead, re-process the chlorine concentration of 100 ppm. Dead shrimp must remain in the pond for at least 7 days for natural disintegration and kill pathogens (because the pathogen may exist in the nucleus).

After removing the water, remove the mud from the bottom of the pond is very clean, treatment lime 4,000-5,000kg / ha when the bottom is wet (can treat lime as the pH of soil drying). Dry bottom drying, ensuring no moisture for hidden pathogens.

Shrimp ponds are white spot disease, farmers should not rush to re-raise immediately, but should give ponds to rest 1.5 to 2 months to remove the source of disease and recreate the base environment. Ponds should be stocked with tilapia to eliminate all intermediate host species that carry residual germs.

Aquaculture ponds grow normally
Farmers should regularly catch up with information on local disease events to have appropriate preventive measures. When the farm has appeared disease that the pond does not have the disease, the farm should be treated by the following measures:

Isolation of diseased ponds, ponds near diseased ponds with no signs of disease (reduced feeding, lethargy) can be maintained by minimizing the causes of stress, such as periodic use of antibiotics for 4 to 5 days Add to the pond to decompose the organic matter in the pond, creating a good environment for shrimp.

Treat 10% Iodine at 0.3 – 1 ppm (repeat after 3 – 4 days) or Formaline 70 ppm (daily) or BKC 1 ppm.

At the same time, farmers need to monitor information on water environment, disease situation in the breeding area, disease warning of specialized agencies to take active prevention measures.

Farmers should not go to the place where the epidemic, restricting the strangers to shrimp ponds, in case of need to change ponds and wading through the water disinfection (Chlorine, Formol 5%). Do not share a tool such as a fish for a shrimp pond.

Use lime powder (CaO) scattered around the pond, to cover the sewers and drainage. Net around the pond to prevent the penetration of crabs, cuffs, fish … into the pond, straps and mannequins to prevent birds in the pond.

Limit the replacement of water into the pond to reduce the pathogen into the pond. Households with settling ponds should pump and treat this pond thoroughly before adding water to the pond.

To collect and treat wastes in accordance with regulations, not directly discharge into the environment to prevent pollution of water supply.
